Speed test says 7.75 down and 0.76 up. The fastest I've ever seen in practice is 0.8 down. Thanks CenturyLink.

My cheapest tier Fios (which Verizon doesn't even offer anymore) is coming in at 19.5 down, 5.4 up. Plenty fast enough for whatever I'm doing.

Comcast Business? Is someone speedtesting while at work?

If not what's the bill? I've known some friends who pay a stupid premium ($200+) just to get stupid bandwidth. I'm at $120 for basic HD channels, 35/35 mbps and HBO

I just remoted in to my work computer. Here at home I usually get 30-35 when I'm wired up and a little less than that when wireless. The business account is $200 a month including a block of 13 static IP addresses.

I got comcast, it's at about 50mbps. In actuality, I get closer to 60.I also only pay ~$30 a month for it, with free cable and HBO.

But I agree, Comcast does suck. They're getting better (and you can get some amazing deals because of it) but they're like Hyundai in 1998 trying to get over a stigma of being unreliable and shitty.

The trick is that I got a great deal two years ago, and I've rolled the savings on despite increasing prices by threatening to quit. Combine that with using my own router instead of their shitty default ones and having a comcast representative for my own apartment building (there nothing better than being able to call a number and having a guy pick up whose job it is to help you) I haven't had problems in a long, long time.
